Imagine being part of a fantastic Transformational Breath ® weekend event. It is running from 5th – 7th May 2023, right out in the Atlantic Ocean and you will be able to breathe in the fresh Atlantic air. The world-famous Aran Islands are set across the mouth of Galway Bay, Inishmore, Inishmaan and Inisheer, the smallest and most easterly of the group. Irish is the first language on the islands although most people speak excellent English too. In a way they are like precious landscapes of ancient Ireland, with how things used to be.
A Perfect Place to Breathe
West of the islands there’s 3000 miles of ocean and the next stop is America. The air is fresh and clean and it’s the perfect place to breathe. Áine Seoighe is a native of Inisheer and a facilitator of Transformational Breath®. She has been introducing breathwork to the other islanders and is inviting you to join us on her island home.
May is perhaps the finest of all the months to visit Inisheer when the island is looking at its best. Geologically Inisheer is formed of limestone and it’s an extension of the famous Burren in Co Clare. This area is renowned for its superb array of spring flowers, Devil’s-bit scabious, and Bloody crane’s-bill, Burnet Rose, Wood Anemone, Primrose, Colt’s Foot, Lesser Celandine and Toothwort. Inisheer supports arctic, Mediterranean and alpine plants side-by-side, due to the unusual environment and there a matching array of rare butterflies and moths.
Inisheer is part of comedy history as the fictional Craggy Island in the hilarious series, Father Ted. You can visit the wreck of the cargo ship MV Plassy which is on the foreshore and features in the opening credits of the TV show.
Arrival, Accommodation and Food
The Reclaim Your Breath™ weekend starts with your arrival no later than Friday evening and finishes in good time to catch the plane or ferry on Sunday afternoon. Accommodation is in another islander’s home so you will be able to get a real sense of island life.
All of your food will be provided apart from dinner on Saturday night when you can join us all in the local pub restaurant and enjoy the craic.
It’s an amazing pilgrimage to get there and it can be by boat of plane. There are ferries from Rossaveel in Co Galway or from Doolin in Co Clare, near the famous Cliffs of Moher. There are flights from Indreabhán, just outside Galway City. You can drive to the air or sea ports or get the bus from Galway City on the 40 minutes journey to Rossaveel.
The Reclaim Your Breath™ course is being led by Lucy and Brian Williams. The emphasis of the weekend is to experience the power of your breath and how it can transform your life. There will be two long breathing sessions’ daily as well as shorter ones. It’s an ideal way to have an introduction to conscious, connected breathing and to have fun too. There’s a sauna on the beach and a lot of ocean in which to take a cold plunge afterwards! And, of course, you can breathe in the fresh Atlantic air! The evenings are long in May and there’ll be time to explore. The island has rare flora and fauna, archaeological treasures and ravishing landscapes. We hope that you will join us.
